Argentina & Chile

Yup, it's all about Argentina & Chile. Most of you have prolly already picked your preferences for the International Study Tour next year. I'm just so behind on my posts. I really wanted to write these up this past weekend. Anyways, if you haven't took the survey. Pick Argentina and Chile!!!

Now for the food. I just noticed that the menu is more detailed now. Are people actually reading this blog? haha Here's what's listed for "AM" for Saturday: Assorted muffins & scones, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, granola, toast, rice cakes. My translation: All the same stuff as before, except muffins and scones were the carbs....oh and rice cakes were new. I didn't try them, but if you like rice cakes, i'm sure they tasted like rice cakes. Saturday breakfast has become pretty consistent, so no real surprises. I'm still waiting for the scrambled eggs and potatoes to come back. Maybe they'll be joined with some sausage and pancakes =)

Lunch! Survey says: Assorted soups & sandwiches, salad, focaccia bread, cookies. This is correct however, they were like 4 different types of sandwiches and like 5 different soups. The soups were the winners of this meal. I was only able to try 2, but I heard good things about all of them. The sandwiches were regular sandwiches as you can from from the pic above. There was a good mix of chicken, turkey, ham, roast beef with white and wheat breads. I think there was a wrap too. I don't remember seeing the veggie option...maybe just some of the soups? The cookies were HUGE, and there were a good variety of them as well.

1 down, 5 to go!

That's right folks! Our first quarter is officially complete. We're done with our tests. Good times were had by all as we all enjoyed our 30 seconds of "Spring Break". Whoo Hoo!! Well, maybe it was a little longer than 30 seconds, but it didn't feel much longer as I started to stress and panic after reading the syllabi of our 3 upcoming classes. Look at all this cra.......very important information we have to read!

Anyways, I hope some of you enjoyed your time off. I went down to LA to visit some family and friends. There's always good eaten in LA. Food is cheap and there's plenty of it, which are my 2 favorite traits for food.

Donuts!! Hell yeah! No hot foods this Saturday, but donuts, daddy likes! We had the regular stuff like the yogurt, bread station, fruit plates, hard boiled eggs (good stuff), and of course the donuts. No complaints here. Donuts and coffee, the breakfast of champions....or MBAs in this case.

It's funny how the breakfast items are never on the calendar. For lunch, they listed: "French dip sandwiches, potato salad, chips, garden salad, fruit" This was actually very accurate. The French dip was good. I don't like my bread too hard (i.e. French bread). This bread wasn't hard, but I soaked it in the au jus sauce before taking a bite cuz that's how I roll. No pun intended. The potato salad was good cuz it had alot of eggs, which is always a bonus. I was planning to get a second sandwich, but I think I ate too much salad and potato salad. I don't even think I ate ice cream afterwards. Man, I'm slackin'!

The Last Week

Yup, it was the last week of our first quarter of the program. Wow, time flies when your having fun =P Anyways, I'm way behind on my post, so I'll get straight to the point.....food!

I'd like to start off by saying that someone is either reading this post that's making our food or they have a new tech writer to write the menu items. Looks at the description of our dinner on the student calendar: "Stuffed Pork Loin with House Pan Gravy, Rice & Vegetable Stuffed Bell Peppers, Fruits & Berries Salad with Crushed Mint, Baby Greens in Light Raspberry Vinaigrette, Rustic Bread"....and that's about it.

So, how did I like it? The pork was good and tender. I don't remember what the sauce tasted like but I remember it wasn't dry. The salad was very good, but I don't remember any "berries" or "mint". I think they were just Mandarin oranges and some almonds. The rice in the stuffed peppers were a little dry/hard for me. I like my rice to be soft, plump, and almost moist. Overall, the dinner was good. I was happy with it.

I did okay on the acct test

As with everyone, I make some dumb mistakes on the first part of the midterm, but I'm happy with my grade. I'm just glad it's over with and I did okay. Now, we just have to prepare for the final....freakin bonds. Premium discount this!

So, under the student calendar for today's meal, the menu read "Thai Buffet" which really didn't say much. I really enjoyed this dinner. Not only because I like Thai food, but as many of you know already, I like hot foods. All the dishes were hot as they were served buffet style on the heated trays. They had rice, chicken pad thai, chicken curry, mongolian beef, and veggie egg rolls. They also had vegetarian choices of veggie pad Thai and veggie curry. I hate to be picky (haha), but their "mongolian beef" was really similar to the chinese dish, broccoli beef. Many chinese restaurants also have a mongolian beef dish which stir fries the beef with green onions and those fried cellophane noodles. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the meal. It was hot. It was good. I like it!

Best Pancakes in Town!

Yes, these are prolly the best pancakes in town! The Original Pancake House is one of my favorite brunch places to visit. That place rocks! I love the chocolate chip pancakes there! It's freakin' the bomb! They have many different pancakes to choose from, but the chocolate chips are by far my favorite. You have to get the whip cream with it also. I don't like butter, but the whip cream melts on with the powered sugar and chocolate chips....man, it's mmm M! My mouth is watering just chatting about it. I also like their pumpkin pancakes, but they're seasonal.

The other pic below the delicious pancakes is their omelette. This is their chicken sausage olive special omelette, but all of their omelettes are hugemongous! Their omelettes are literally about 9-10 inches in diameter, and even I can't finish it. Well, I have finished it, but it hurt.

Anyways, we went this past weekend, so I wanted to share it. I've only been to the one in Kirkland (many times). I really enjoy going to breakfast/brunch places around town, so if you know of any, please share. I've been to the Chow Foods restaurants like Coastal Kitchen, Hi-Life, and 5 spot. I've also tried the Dish, Eggs-cetera, and Brown Bag which were good as well. I've been to Beth's and Chace's, but I just wasn't impressed....sorry. I know they're local institutions...that's why I went. If I'm missing out on some awesome breakfast, please let me know. I will go there and try it!

Last Strategy class

There is a slight sense of relief as we draw near the end of the first quarter. First Econ and now Strategy are behind us. Well, I still have to take the Strat exam and finish up the Econ paper, but you know what I mean. As of writing this, we only have one more week of classes left, then the 2 exams and we're done. On to quarter two with more exciting stuff to learn from our TMMBA program.

Lunch time! I had just recently been told that our food menu was posted on our student calendars. I had no idea. This would make it so much easier to remember what we had. However, they don't post every meal and the descriptions are not always....descriptive. For example, on the calendar for this meal it stated "Taco bar with all the fixings, salad, chips. Vegetarian tacos available." This was okay, but I don't remember having chips. I guess I could have just missed it.

Here's my description of our meal: Ground beef tacos with soft flour tortillas or fried taco shells. We also had sides of refried beans and rice. Fixins included lettuce, tomatoes, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and different salsas. I may have missed some other toppings. All in all, it was alright. I'm not a big taco fan, so it wasn't one of my favorite meals.
