I got the ITIS!

OMG, RIBS!!!  This was prolly one of the best meals we've had in the program.  I mean I'm a meat eater, so of course, I enjoy the meals with lotsa meat.  But I also really like BBQ, and these ribs were goooooood!  Oh, the menu:  Dinner: Baby back ribs in sweet, tangy, barbecue sauce; baked beans; country style potato salad; garden salad; biscuits with honey butter.  I don't know who the caterer was, but these ribs were really good. I think I ate like 14 ribs....i ate a lot!  The beans were pretty good too, but I mainly concentrated on eating more and more ribs.  Great dinner!  I had the ITIS during class that night. haha

Crossing that Chasm

We learned in Marketing that companies need to cross the chasm in order to be successful in the market.  In order to jump over that gap, company can find and target a niche market (the headpin), so they can focus and dominate in this niche market.  Then, grow their business into another market and be able to leap into the main stream.

No meau on the calendar, oh no's!  Well, for breakfast, it looks like the same old stuff with the hard broiled eggs, fruit, meat and cheese, except I got bagels, so they must've really have nothing to eat =P   For lunch, we had sandwiches and soup.  As you can see, I forgot to take a picture of what I ate.  I was prolly hungry from not eating much for breakfast. haha.  Oh, we had those giant cookies at lunch as well. Those are sweet!

Wow, I'm horrible.

Man, it has been a long time.  I actually did not know it's been this long since I last posted.  I was busy, then midterm and finals. Then it's the next quarter, and then you realize it's been months and you haven't updated your food blog!! Okay, here goes...

Dinner: Fajitas with achiote beef, south of the border frijoles, spanish rice, southwest caesar salad, corn muffins.  I think we've had fajitas a few times in the program, and the students usually like them.  I really like the corn muffins, and I believe I had a few of them =) YUM!

S-Curves

We were told that the rate of adoption and technology performance improvements many times conform to this S-curve concept. It's a pretty interesting concept and makes a lot of sense to me. Is it me or does it seem like many of the topics are going to be similar this quarter amongst our 3 classes.  I know there have been classes in previous quarter that have common discussions and topics and I'm sure it's planned, but this quarter seems even more so. It could just be my initial impressions, and things may shift/change as our quarter moves forward.

Dinner: Gorgonzola salad; chicken breast stuffed with olives, sundried tomatoes, feta cheese and herbs; pasta; mixed vegetables; fruit; rolls; Vegetarian entrĂ©e -- Eggplant parmesan.  Look at that, the vegetarian menu gets some love on the calendar's menu listings!  I liked the stuffed chicken, and a couple of folks mentioned that it was good as well.  However, personally, I thot there was a little too much sundried tomatoes.  I like sundried tomatoes, but I don't know if it was just too strong of a flavor. I just couldn't finish it. I had 2 chicken breasts, but could not eat all of the stuffing. The cheesy penne pasta went well with the chicken.

Do not touch the ice cream freezer!

OMG, we were freakin' out during our afternoon break when we saw that the ice cream freezer was missing. "WTF!" was the most popular phrase from what I recall =)  "They first took our Vitamin Water, now ice cream! Come on!"  "Cutting costs by taking the most obvious items away doesn't make any sense!"  I thought a riot was going to break out with pitch forks and torches. Heads were going to roll!  I was going to have to make an ugly post!  Luckily, we came back the following class day to find the ice cream freezer back, fully stocked, and ready for everyone's enjoyment =) phew!

Unfortunately, this was an overall disappointing day for food.  Breakfast: Assorted cereals & milk, hard-boiled eggs, fruit platter, yogurt, toast, rice cakes.  The usual stuff, but maybe I was hoping for more for our first Saturday back.... like more warmer =)  We didn't even get our regular coffee cake! Inconceivable! Haha, I guess it wasn't that bad, just nothing special.

But then our lunch.  Lunch: Chili in bread bowls, garden salad, cornbread, side dish, fruit. Chili was our main entree! WTF, seriously?  Chili isn't a main meal. It's a side item like soup.  I mean I know some people have soup as a meal, but those people are on diets!  The chili wouldn't have been too bad if it wasn't all beans. It wasn't really chili with beans. It was beans with a little bit of chili. Maybe it's cuz I'm from Texas, but I don't think there's supposed to be that many beans in chili. I've had sides of beans with less beans than that chili! And the corn bread wasn't really cornbread-ish and not very tasty either.  Let's just say that I was still hungry after this meal, and that's always a sad situation for me =(

Happy New Year!

It's that time again. Well, yeah, the new year, 2010, but also the beginning of another quarter. Our fifth quarter for class 9, if you're keeping out. Only 10 Saturdays, and 20 Mondays/Wednesdays left! The classes we have lined-up for this quarter are Entrepreneurship, Marketing of New Products and Innovations, and Strategic Mgmt of Technology and Innovations.  All the classes look interesting and I'm looking forward to all the new things we'll be learning this quarter!

FOOD! Dinner: Indian buffet. Pretty descriptive menu listing on the calendar =P.  I'll take a stab at it....Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken?, Curry lamb or beef?, fried vegetable thingy, humus, and naan. There were vegetarian dishes as well that were similar to these like some kinda curry paneer or tofu..maybe? and some other fried veggies. They're not as important...hahaha  The food was delicious. Indian dinners are popular with most of the class. I believe we had an Indian buffet for the first class last quarter as well.....hrmmmm.
