What! No Blue Oceans?

Yup, Ali told us that there were really no Blue Oceans or it's just very rare to create markets. I'm not sure if I agree though since the Blue Ocean Strategy book is pretty convincing about this topic. However, Ali is a pretty smart guy and he has been around for awhile. Eh, what do I know...

Man, I really need to do these blog updates on the same night as I eat the food. The only reason I remember what I ate was because I took a picture of it. I also need to ask more people about their opinions on the food, and maybe tell someone about this blog, so I don't feel like I'm just talking/chatting with myself =P

Okay, food-wise, it wasn't so bad. There was a choice of 2 salads, one was a walnut and cranberries salad (which I chose) and the other was a Caesar salad I believe. The entree was a chicken with mushrooms and peas in a brown gravy sauce. It was okay, but the chicken meats are always the breast meat so it seems kinda dry to me. The vegetarian entree was a Butternut squash lasagna (the yellow stuff in the picture), which was actually really good. I liked it better than the chicken. It was sweet and tasty....I think. I had seconds! Also, there were sides of green beans and bread as you can see on my plate, which were decent as well.

T-Accounts!

That is the key to financial reporting. It seems that you get better practice by doing the T-Accounts than just doing the spreadsheet. It also seems to translate better to the balance sheet and the income statement. Anyways, I'm tired, so I'll just get to the food.

Tonight we had some grilled chicken dish, potatoes with herbs, sauteed vegetables, bread, and salad. The chicken was okay. It didn't have too much taste. I wished it would have come with a sauce or something. It would have made it much better. The potatoes were good, but I enjoyed the other vegetables. The sauteed vegetables included a medley of mushrooms, zucchini, and Butternut squash. I really liked the Butternut squash, but it wasn't as popular as the mushrooms. I think people were turned off by its yellowish color. They had two different bowls of salad. One was a romaine lettuce for a Caesar salad, and another bowl just had spinach. There were dressings and Parmesan cheese, but I typically do without. There was also a vegetarian choice of stuffed bell peppers. It looked good, but I didn't try it.

I was a little disappointed that there was no dessert. Haha! I guess we've been spoiled with the other meals. The brownie last week was pretty good though. There's always the ice cream sandwiches or a Haagen-Dazs bars. I didn't have any dessert..........until the break and I got some mint Dibs. Excellente!

Saturday....loooong day

Yes, by this time, we were only through half of the day, but man, I can already see that some Saturdays are gonna hurt. Maybe we'll get used to it after a coupla months, but the first one was rough!

Okay, lunch time was Indian food. Excellent choice! I enjoyed it, and yes, sorry, this was my second plate. The nan was leftover from my first plate so it looks kinda odd (half eaten =) The problem with eating Indian food though is that I suck and don't know what any of the dishes are called. I like Indian food, but I just don't have it often enough to remember what they're all called. I know Tandoori Chicken but we didn't have that. So, I had a Butter Chicken thingy...I think, and a lamb dish, which was familiar. Neither were curries, and there is rice and nan also on my plate. There was also the green vegetable dish I had which looks kinda like spinach but it's not. Then there were 2 other vegetarian dishes, but I didn't try them. I'm a meat eater man, what can I say. Oh the dessert, it's that round brown thing in the bowl. It's a fried dough soaked in this light syrup. It was good, but it can be pretty rich and heavy.

I heard from a coupla Indian students that the food was okay or decent, so I guess I can say that overall, everyone enjoyed their meals.

Saturday Fun Day!

I know I know...the plate looks skimpy. The reason why my plates all looks half full is because I forgot to take the picture with my first plate just like below. I don't know if it's just the hunger or what, but I always forget to take the picture right at the beginning of the meal. It's okay though, I typically eat 2 plates cuz I love food!!!

Okay, so for breakfast, they had a bunch of stuff out, but nothing was drawing me. I had some fruit (pineapple *one of my fav fruits*, cantaloupe, honeydew, and grapes), a few hardboiled eggs(not all shown), and peanut butter/jelly on toast. They actually had a bunch of different types of breads (all loafs) like white, wheat, potato, whole grain, and something else. They also had this yogurt tray thingy with maybe 3 types of yogurts with granola, raisins, and something else....man, I really need to take better pictures. Anyways, I didn't try the yogurt. Gotta save something for next time =)

Oh BTW, I'm not much of a photographer either if you haven't noticed already. I'll try to take better pictures, but it's just a camera phone. They actually didn't turn out too bad. At least you can make out the food. I mean I have a digital camera, but I'm not gonna use it to take these pics. Cuz then, I'd have to take the pictures on my camera.....then upload them to my PC...... and then upload them to Blogger or whereever. Fughetabadit! Just MMS from my phone to this site and BAM! I'm good to go! Mobile phones are sweet! Technology is nice!

The First Meal

Okay, technically it wasn't the "first" meal for our TMMBA program, but Semiahmoo aside, this was our first week of classes at the EEC (Eastside Executive Center) in Kirkland. So, what was in our first meal? Well, we had salad, some grilled vegetables, rice pilaf, and that big red thing with the white goo is a cajun style salmon filet. All in all, the meal was pretty good. I enjoyed the grilled vegetables with the peppers and mushrooms. The fish was not bad actually with a little kick from the paprika and the tartar sauce (I think that's what it was) was tasty. The only complaint that I'd have is that the fish was served cold or cooled.

Oh yeah, so I decided to do this blog because 1) I love food! I really enjoy eating food and trying different types of food. 2) Just started the TMMBA program and wanted to have something to remember and look back on. Since food comes with the program, why not! 3) I've never had a blog before or participated in blogs, and you can probably tell by my cookie-cutter template and blogger site choice. But this is like 3 birds with one stone, right? Nice!
