More hot food

Saturday's breakfast menus seems pretty set from what I've seen. The fruit plates, yogurt station, and the bread "bar" with the peanut butter, jelly, and butter are always there. Then there is some type of pastry tray like muffins, danishes, or croissants (this time). Added to that is the something new which was the hot oatmeal this week. I enjoyed the oatmeal as it was a nice addition to the breakfast. They also had brown sugar and crushed walnuts to mix in with the oatmeal which made it tasty.

Econ test: I know I got 2 right!!

Yup, that's right. I'm not sure how well I did on the Econ test, but I know I got at least 2 of them right. It's kind of a relief to have Econ completed and done with.....well, we still have that group paper due, but the hard part's over right =)

Dinner time. We had steak with a brown mushroom sauce, new potatoes, grill veggies with olive oil, and mixed salad. The steak was kinda dry...even with the sauce. I guess they just wanted to make sure it was well done so that everyone could eat it...dono, but it wasn't that great. I heard a couple of others complain about it as well. The potatoes had some garlicy/herby sauce which was good, and the grill veggies were decent as well. I'm sure there was a vegetarian option, but I didn't take a look at it this time.

Oh, someone asked me about the recipe for the grilled veggies we usually get. Umm, I'm not the cook for the TMMBA program, man. I just eat there =P If you really want to know, you should ask the chefs and comment about what you found ;)

Wheee, 12 hour test!

Yes, it took me about 12 hours to complete the accounting test. I can talk about it now since it's Monday, and I'm posting this so late. Talking with my team today, I realized that I had made a mistake on my Journal entry and T-Accounts. Who all put the $3000 for the employee under Accts payable? Dang it!!

This was actually last week's meal on Wed night. Previously having gone to the EEC on Monday night, I realized that they serve the same food on Mondays and Weds. Nah, I don't think they're leftovers, but I guess some could be. Man, it kinda sux now to be Wednesdays, huh. hahaha

Anyways, I know my plate doesn't look that appetizing but the food was pretty good. We had meatloaf, grills green beans, roll, and salad (not shown). I know meatloaf had bad memories for most people, but I've always enjoyed it...probably because I didn't have it much growing up. This meatloaf was good even though there was no sauce. It really didn't need it. The green beans were decent, but they were really cold which was a disappointment. I also tried the vegetarian option, which was Polenta. The Polenta was pretty good as well. It was topped with slices of eggplants, mushrooms, and cheese.

Okay, I gotta go back and finish writing my strategy paper. Good luck to those who are still finishing up their Econ test.

Sushi and Teriyaki!!!

Well, the sushi was more of the generic stuff like cucumber, eel, crab, tuna, etc. They were in these big circular crates that were stacked on top of each other. There were prolly about 250 to 300 pieces total. I tried to get a variety of them. They were going pretty fast as Saturday are busy for lunch since all the class 9 students are eating at the same time. The sushi was okay. I didn't expect much from it.

We also had chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, stir fried noodles, and of course, steam rice. The teriyaki was good, but it was pretty cold by the time I got to it. I guess I shoulda used the microwave again. It makes more sense now why it's there. Another complaint that I have is that the rice ran out early. A couple of my fellow students were pointing that out to me as well.

Talking about running out....looks like Coca-Cola ran outta Vitamin Water cuz we aint gettin none. My earlier blog about saving room for beer was incorrect. I think we're past our Vitamin Water quota or something cuz we haven't seen it for almost 2 weeks now. One of my teammates got hooked on the red one...power-c, dragonfruit thingy. He never had a Vitamin Water before he started the TMMBA program. Now he's going through withdrawal.

OH YEAH!! DAMN Thao!! What's up, gurl!!! When da hell you meet Anthony Bourdain!!! He's the man! He's like my idol. He loves food almost as much as I do....almost ;) That's awesome though. You gotta tell me about it next time. Dang, I'm so jealous.

Breakfast was.......okay

I guess we got spoiled last time with the hot breakfast with scrambled eggs and potatoes. Well, at least I did =P You'll see there are 2 pictures above, but I didn't eat 2 plates. I wish this blog would let me put the pictures side by side, but it won't or I couldn't figure it out. You can probably guess what happened by looking at the first plate. I don't know what's up with me sometimes, but I just start eating and forget to take the picture. Then, half way, I'm like, DOH! The second plate was another student's which I took since he had the apple dumpling thing that I had.

So what did we have for breakfast....Yeah, that apple dumpling thing was new. It's like one of those apple turnover things you get a 7-eleven for $1.50, but this was better. It would have probably tasted better if I had put it in the microwave, but I didn't think of it til later. The rest was pretty much the same as last time. There was the multiple loafs of bread with the butter, jam, and peanut butter "station". The yogurt station with three different yogurts, granola, and raisins. Hey, I tried the yogurt this time. It was okay. I'm not a yogurt fan or nuthin, but I think it was softer than I usually like...prolly cuz it was set out. Also, the fruit plate, hard broiled eggs, and the muffin basket were there. I believe that was it.

Crap...

Once again, I forgot to take a picture at the beginning of the meal. I wasn't planning to get another plate since I got too much on this one, so I just took the picture. Anyways, my bad on the sloppy plate and the crappy picture. I just realized that the plastic fork and knife just made it that much more ghetto.

We had pork tenderloins with this mushrooms gravy/sauce thingy, which turned out to be pretty good. The spinach salad was extra nice cuz there was this huge salad spread. It had its own table with all the fixins like mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon bits, eggs, etc. There was a vegetarian option which looked like sauteed vegetables.

My data sets of before and after

As a result, there is a significant difference in my 2 data sets so we have to REJECT the null hypothesis and ACCEPT the research hypothesis ;)

The Quarterly Social was after our review sessions Thursday night, so I decided to stay for it. Come on man free food, I'm not gonna skip out on that. The pizza was delivered by Jet City Pizza. I don't know the exact names of the pizzas, but there were a few vegetarian pizzas and others with miscellanous (meats/veggies) toppings. It was pretty good, but you can't really go wrong with pizza unless your picky about toppings. As you know, I'm not really that picky about food. Free food = good = my happiness.

There was about 5 or 6 large pizzas, but I think the staff underestimated as the pizzas quickly disappeared. You can see from the above pictures that I was set. However, I knew someone that didn't get any pizza. Lucky for him, they ordered a second round and good times was had by all.

Oh, I didn't take a picture, but they had beer in the drink cooler. This was indeed a popular item as much of it was gone by the time I left. I also forgot to mention in my last post that one of my peers noticed the Vitamin Water drinks were not getting replenished. Were they running out and not getting replaced or were they just making room for the beer? We'll never know...

Fabulous on a stick!

Yes, that's what the Haagen Dazs ice cream bars have become to me. It's like a stick of hope. It's that extra kick that we need on Wednesday nights and Saturday afternoons. It is most definitely a strategical part of acheiving success in the TMMBA program. Now to the food...

Wednesday night was fried chicken night. Not the good fried chicken like from Popeye's and Church's, but a regular fried chicken breast without the tasty bones. The chicken wasn't bad, but you could tell that it was frozen. The fried chicken breast came with a creamy sauce which made it tasty, and the benefit of it being frozen was that it was soft and not dry. There was also fried rice which one of my peers pointed out "Flied lice? It's fried rice you plick!" which of course was made famous from Lethal Weapon 4. They also had grilled vegetables (the red bell peppers and mushrooms are always very nice), spinach salad, and rolls. As you can see, I like some salad with my eggs. I may have said it before, but yeah, like Anthony Bourdain, I'm an egg slut. The rolls were pretty good too. They kinda reminded me of the King Hawaiian bread I ate growing up, but not as sweet.

The second picture above was the vegetarian option. No, I did not eat another plate of the vegetarian option. I'm not that much of a pig....usually. One of my teammates actually opted for it.

Oooo, Ice Cream!

Oh man, I should have taken this picture a long time ago. Seriously, this is the best thing about the TMMBA program....ice cream on demand. The freshman 15 will definitely be back in action with this bin.

I actually took this picture because someone mentioned how stocked our ice cream bin was, and they were right. This past Wed, most of the stuff was gone. It was a sad night =(. But now, we're back in action. The Haagen-Dazs bar with the coffee ice cream and nuts on the outside is the BEST!

Mmmm....brownies.....

These were the desserts for our lunch on Saturday. I had the brownies last time, so I knew they were good. I took one to class with me. It was excellent. I didn't have enough stomache space for the cookies...maybe next time. Now, if I can get them to stock some milk....

2 down, 28 more Saturdays to go!

Yup, this was our second Saturday class for our TMMBA program, and there are 28 more to go. I kn0w it doesn't sound like too much at first, but that's 28 every other Saturdays which makes it like another...what 14 months!! OMG!!!

So for lunch we had DIY sandwiches and chili with fritos. The sandwich wasn't too bad because...uh...I made them. They had white or wheat bread, then 3 different meats: turkey, ham, and roast beef. There were also lots of condements and fixins for your sandwich like mayonaise, mustard, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles...I'm sure I missed something.

They also had chili and fritos, but you can't see the chili on my plate cuz it's below my fritos in the cup. I'm not a huge chili fan since I don't like the beans in there. I like just meat chili. Yum! When I put the fritos on top of the chili, I realized that I used to eat this stuff in grade school except they called it Frito-pie. It wasn't my favorite back then either.

Hot Foods!

That's right folks! Hot foods for breakfast this past Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the cheesy potatoes thingy and scrambled eggs over the warm buffet trays. It was nice to get some hot foods for breakfast.

The cheesy potatoes/hashbrowns and eggs with a slice of wheat bread are what's on my plate above. I know my plate doesn't look all that great, but the food wasn't bad. The potatoes were pretty good, and it's hard to mess scrambled eggs up. Besides, I love eggs. They also had the DIY yogurt station, mixed fruit platters, and the wide range of bread and peanut butter/jam like last time. I did eat some fruit, but I didn't take a picture of it.
